This old barn based near the north wales coast within the beautiful Snowdonia national park, was transformed from an old barn keeping Welsh Black cattle into a 3 bedroom detached holiday let.
Owners gave us the opportunity to transform the barn, working with local architects’ plans, work commenced.
The aim was to keep as much character as possible for example by keeping the exposed beams and using as much glass as possible to expose the beautiful views and let the natural light flood through the barn.
We were lucky that we had a skilled stonemason as a subcontractor who rebuilt the stone walls for us, in order to keep the character. Stonewalls are an important part of the area and can be seen for miles, therefore it was important that these were kept and used to surround the barn as a boundary. A modern touch was added with the oak cladding to compliment the stones. Slabs for the patio area and hard core from a local quarry for the parking. Inside client wanted a modern clean finish but homely too using oak and slate.
The work was completed in October 2020.
The barn is very popular and can be booked using the link below if you wish to stay in beautiful North Wales –
